Privacy policy
This policy explains what Quartsmith (Quartsmith) collects when you visit quartsmith.com or place an order, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of any message you send us.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number.
- Automatically collected: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view on our site and how long you stay, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Advertising and analytics cookies
We use the Meta pixel and similar advertising and analytics tools. These set cookies and send information about your activity on this site to those providers, which lets us measure the performance of our ads and show ads to people who have visited us. Under some US state privacy laws this counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
You can opt out at any time by emailing sales@quartsmith.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", by using your browser's cookie controls, or through your ad settings on the relevant platform.
How we use your information
- To process, fulfil and deliver your order, and to contact you about it
- To handle returns, refunds and customer service
- To detect and prevent fraud and chargeback abuse
- To measure and improve our website and our advertising
- To send marketing emails where you have opted in, which you can leave at any time
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, with: our ecommerce platform and hosting providers; our payment processor; our warehouse and fulfilment partner; shipping carriers; email and customer service tools; and advertising and analytics providers as described above. We also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell your personal information for money.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally seven years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set by each provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a copy, to opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights explicitly.
To exercise any of them, email sales@quartsmith.com. We respond within 45 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Our site uses TLS encryption and payments are processed by a PCI-compliant provider. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on the site.
